Frequently Asked Questions
Most people (and business owners) delegate work they don’t feel competent in – be it plumbing or tax preparation or staying in shape. In many cases, hiring an expert saves money in the long run because you don’t waste time learning and doing things that don’t really add to your bottom line. How much is your time worth to you?
Your business is your own business! I’ll work with you in whatever way makes sense and makes you feel safe and taken care of. Happy to spell out roles and responsibilities in a private document – and then I’ll do the work and you can have the glory.
I absolutely love taking things from chaos to organization – and if the new systems we set up together leave you with more time to take over some responsibilities, great! My work is done here. My objective is to help you get your business where you want it to be, and this might look like a week or two of intensive work to get you up to speed, or a longer term contract to take care of things you don’t want to do and know you never will.
For the past many years this is a question I’ve heard a LOT. Doulas are different because midwives are highly trained medical professionals (like doctors and other healthcare providers) while doulas provide non-medical physical, emotional, and informational support. Some families hire a birth doula to help them with labor and delivery, and others hire a postpartum doula to come to their home after the baby is born to take care of the new parents and the house and get everyone off to a good start. The role of the doula is like that of a physical trainer or a sherpa, providing help on a difficult journey.
